About The Owner- Kelton Short
I’m Kelton Short, owner of Teak Construction.
I began my construction journey in the Bitterroot Valley, working alongside my uncle. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to take on all kinds of building and remodeling work, from framing and finish carpentry to full remodels and decks. Those early years taught me the importance of doing things right the first time and paying attention to the details that make a project last. Now, being able to put that experience to work here in the Flathead Valley feels like coming full circle.
For me, construction has always been about more than the work itself, it’s about the people behind it. Every homeowner has a story, and getting to know them is one of my favorite parts of what I do. Whether it’s hearing how someone ended up here, what they love about their home, or what inspired their project, there’s always something to learn from each person we meet.
Outside of the jobsite, life is centered around my family. Whether we’re paddle boarding on the lake, skiing in the winter, or just enjoying the outdoors together, I value the time we get to spend here in the valley. Being able to raise my kids in this community while running a business I care about is something I’m truly thankful for.
